Depression among our youth is climbing. Be sure to talk to your kids. They need us. I have met way to many parents through the years that have loss a child to suicide.
The regrets I often hear from mom and dad’s is, “I had no idea they were struggling” or “I wish I talked to my kid more.”
Speak openly and honestly with your children. Reassure them of your love. Remind them of truths. Many kids dealing with suicidal thoughts often believe the lie, “nobody would miss me if I was gone.” Remind them how much you love them and how you are always here for them.
Seeking professional help is always best. Reassure them that it’s okay to not be okay.
